havent completed one yet, but am in the process. Currently disassembling the turbo coupe and trying to find some of the left over parts i dont have yet. Looks like it should be pretty straight forward. enough people have done it so im sure some of them will pipe up like evintho (sp?) and sleeper. I think the biggest thing is to make a check list of all the parts your going to need from a donner car, and figure out whats left that either the donner car doesn't have, or wont work in your mustang. I know before my swap I am going to get all the parts i need, have them cleaned up, painted, rebuilt, and ready to drop in before i tear into my mustang. then hopefully the swap will go fairly quick. Its also a great time to upgrade some parts like tubular k-members, coil-over suspension, tubular control and a-arms, etc.

ive done the swap also. currently getting my bottom end rebuilt 20 over with cp pistons new rings wrist pins, rod and main bearings the works. Long story short i would say to you find someone selling a swap for about 500 depending o n its condition have it rebuilt maybe not. start off with the big vam and la series ecu also make sure your injectors are flowed and tested, or at least a known good set. Your going to want to upgrade to a 8.8 diff asap maybe a set of 3.73 gears. Just know that for the most part it is a straight forward swap but there are aspects where u will have to use your ingenuity to make things work (clutch cable for one) a nd expect to be runing back and forth between hardware stores and parts stores lol. Its fun though and a good learning experience. You need money i will tell you that

theres lots of swaps and information out there just do your research

Bellhousing for 2.3 all same. Some turbocoupe have hydralic clutch not sure on yours. You can use the starter but the 93 has the small starter which most are changing to. The swap on the 86 turbo coupe wiring is a little differant than stinger or other website. The vam pins differant. I think sleeper-inc has difference in the tech info. If I can provide. Just compare the vam wiring between these 2 diagrams. the 87-88. Stinger uses.

And the 86

May want to find a 87-88 computer and large vane. The stock 86 is good for 145 hp and 88 is 175 plus more with minor modification. Mine started out with a 86 computer and wiring. If need info just ask. Just look at my photobucket and will see my first install. Maurice
