92 trans problem

ok this is my first post on this site me and my wife just got a 92 lx from her father and we took the car home to alabama and noticed that the trans isent shifting correctly i have to play with the shifter and let off the gas and let it shift the car has 115k on the motor and trans the oil is looking dark with a hint of red left should i change the fluid or in my trans shot please help if u need to get anymore info just ask its an auto trans with o/d

So your saying it only shifts manually? Did you check the trans fluid and level when hot.

changed the filter and oil second gear is gone just gonna drive it till the thing is toast then put a new tranny i just wait for it to shift to third then it works ok
