Default Clattering from trans in 2nd gear only

I just bought a 92 lx with a 2.3 and 5 speed and there is a clattering noise in second gear only. Only happens during acceleration. Its had a recent clutch, but i dont think that would be it. Has anyone experienced this before?

Mine does that, but only since I realized I had to add 4 liters of trans fluid when I thought she died. Maybe the previous owner did the same?

thanks for the reply. actually it had the original fluid in it still, still full. I know the previous owners and they said they never changed it. So i did change it, and also added the lucas additave. Still does it. Aint to worried about it, just curious what it is.

youd be surprised what dirty hands can do to a clutch. I ALWAYS installed clutches with gloves on. Did say it was the problem either.

Could just be that you reach a higher amount of tq in that gear and lets it spin alittle bit. Or it could be a bad slave, or cable setup not adjusted correctly. Or bad second gear components like rings or sliders and its not letting the gear slide all the way. Or maybe bent shift forks.

Did it do it before on the old clutch? Or did it start with this clutch

Im not sure about the old clutch. I talked to the guy that used to own it, he didint even know it did it. It is pretty faint, but i notice it more then i should probly. Latley its doing it maybe half the time. Also i noticed when im taking off in first, theres sometimes a clunk/click type noise after im already rolling. Probly a U joint on that part, maybe.
