Default will a 4.0 v6 ranger engine swap into a 91 mustang and other ?s

Ive been thinking it would be nice if a 4.0 v6 from a second gen or third gen ranger would drop into my 91 4cyl mustang with not very many mods. Would the 4.0v6 motor mounts bolt into the mustang frame, or would modification have to be done.

Another question is what about the engines computer. would I be able to swap in a ranger computer in the mustang? or would something entirely different have to be done. my reasoning for a v6 swap would have to be for gas mileage, weight, and I suppose just because i want to.

there could be many questions about this topic, I just want to know if some of the major things to make it possible would be esily overcome. I for sure would like to buy a good used ranger that runs and has everything there so the swap would be easier.

The hp gain right away would be nice and before I install it I could upgrade some internals on the v6 to get a even better hp gain.

This idea of mine is something i dont want to do now. I first want to get some of the suspension replaced. Im thinking all the bushings in the front and rear control arms should be replaced and then id like to change out the coills for maybe 1/2 inch lowering springs. also the struts up front and rear shocks. since i already swaoped the front and rear sway bar and the wheels from a 87 thunderbird Turbo coupe, I beleive all that it handle how i want it to.

I checked into. And thought about it for my Frankenstang car. The 4.0 is a fairly tall motor. If comes out of after say somewhere around 2000 model must deal with antitheft in the computer. Would probably have to swap entire wiring harness from donar. Probably have to go auto, standard shifter probably come out in wrong spot. Probably no adapter for a t-5. It would be a interesting swap. But I forgot about it. If I was going to do a differant one. I would think of a 2000 of so Mustang 3.8. It has the best 3.8 and has lot of torque and should fit body without to much modification and can fit a c-4 behind it and t-5.
