Has anyone ever heard of a 79 that they only made 500 of and was a 4 cylinder,supposedly had special pipes and a motor with German parts ? It's not a Cobra and supposedly not the Pace Car. Think I'm getting a load of bull but thought I try to see what you guys know. Appreciate any help.

There was no such thing ever made. The only limited production was the Pace car. Heres production number right from Ford, as you can see there was really nothing special about any of them.
Pace Cars:
5,970 2.3 Turbo with manual transmission
2,106 5.0 V8 with automatic transmission
2,402 5.0 V8 with manual transmission
Total: 10,478
*note: There were 3 Roush prepped cars that were the ones used during the race. It's said that all three are still accounted for but two were updated to slightly later model specs (early to mid-80s) and used elsewhere.
Total 5.0 production: 47,568
Approximate San Jose plant volume: 101,000
I keep running accross the word ghia on this site and others. What is it?
Ghia was a Company that Iacocca had do fancy'd up versions of other FoMoCo products. I think they made fancy versions of the Monarch and the Fairmont as well
