has anybody here done the volvo b234 head swap on their 2.3? if so, do you have any pointers on how to make this go smoothly?

As i recall, no one recently has done this head swap. However, Sleeper_Inc has some good info on this swap from the research he has completed

I don't believe anybody on here has done it, and I don't think anybody anywhere has done it smoothly. More than enough power can be made on the regular head, I think most have been moving toward the opinion that the swap is more of a pain to accomplish than it is worth in the end.

Don't let my downer opinion dissuade you though if it's what you want to do. turboford.net is probably the best place you could look for info. At least a few people have accomplished it over there.

Smoothly, as in it was a simple swap. Unless you are extremely confident in your abilities to modify what needs to be modified and then in turn tune it yourself to make it run like a raped ape then go for it. I am simply saying that it is more complicated than alot of stuff you see on the internet makes it out to be, and that you can make good power with the regular old eight valve head.

The way i see it, i want something that not alot of people have. And nobody an my town, or state for that matter has done this swap. I can get the head for cheap, turbo's are easy to get ahold of, and i have the tools and things to do it.

So after reading this it is pretty good project. Beside the actual building. Then you got to do the tuning of it. Maurice

I am on there by same name. Several e-mails are banned. Way I understand those do a lot of spamming. So he banned them. Unsure what is allowed. Mine is gmail over there but I joined when it was allowed. Can try contacting them from this page.

You can still use search on the forum. It is open to everone. One warning if thinking of joining. Use the search, use the search, use the search. If you post a question that search would answer you will get flamed by many. Good people and very well knowledgeable. But they don't like to answer the same question over and over. Just the way they are. Maurice
