The "Teal" will go and the car will be Black and maybe a couple of ghost stripes. Still trying to decide on the stripes. Made some progress today by getting the engine and tranny out. After removing the oil pan it seems the bottom looks pretty good, but I plan on checking the clearences tomorrow just to be sure (154k). On the tranny, the clutch shows to be almost gone so it will get a new one. I do have a couple of questions though on the water tubes. I would like to replace them with new ones along with the waistgate controller and I was wondering if they were aftermarket parts available or can you still get these thru Ford? There is no plan to go into the head provided nothing shows up in the compression check. Still thinking on the FMIC.

You've got 3 choices on the coolant lines.
1) Make your own. I've seen other guys make them out of copper tubing. I wasn't impressed!
2) Find some decent ones in a junkyard or check the classifieds on TF or NATO.
3) Or, for $220 you can have Forced4's stainless steel lines. A little more than halfway down the page................... http://www.forced4.com/svostore.html
Occasionally, you can find wastegate controllers in the classifieds on the message boards. Yours looks pretty crusty but if the diaphram isn't torn or has a hole in it, you can just clean up the canister, paint it and it'll be good as new.

Thanks, after removing the tubes they actually are only surface rusted. The inside looks good. I think a trip thru the bead blaster and they will clean up like new. Checked all the clearences last night and they are within specs. Be back on it tonight.

I used a bead blaster to clean it up, then a coat of clear acrylic engine paint and hand painted the colors with Testors enamel and a small brush. About 30 minutes for all. Almost done with the engine, only lack the fronr and rear main seals. I think it will look pretty good in there. A couple of questions, will the A/C unit bolt directly on to this block? And is the power steering pump a direct fit also. I am planning om moving the rack if it fits also.
