Default driveshaft rubbing the firewall after a drop with springs

i guess the 4 cyl. mustang have a balancing ring on the driveshaft and the after i dropped it about a inch and a half its rubbing with there's a heavy load in the car. the mech. sdaid i have 3 options hit the firewall so i can make it wider and not rub,get stock springs again or get a new drive shaft. i dont want to bang the car up,so that leaves me with 2 options. where can i get a drive shaft that will fit without that balancing ring? i really dont want to get stock springs again . it only rubs on a really heavy load. thank guys

Your firewall is behind the engine, front of the passengers compartment....

So its hitting the floor, is the dampener rubber? If so, cut it off....

on the drive shaft there is a steel ring that is rubbing on the bottom of the car ,where the ebrake area is. what does the rubber have to do with it?

Some of the rings are just made out of heavy rubber, wasnt sure if yours is.....

anyways, thats weird, I havnt had a fox driveshaft yet with a steel ring, maybe get another from a wrecking yard without it on there.

Had one on mine for while. I put the Ford motorsport one in. Best decision I ever made. Got rid of a bunch of vibration. This driveshaft will not work on a A4LD. I assume yours a t-5 if so order one. They are about 200 dollars but well worth it. Even for a cheapskate like me. Maurice

If it hits (rubs ) under load, is your trans mount busted ?? might be the cuase .

Touring I assume meaning driveshaft. I got mine from Summit. Now rest of car. Just ask but mostly from j-yard. Maurice
