Default 1986 mustang 2.3l auto to 2.3l turbo manual help!

I have a 1986 Mustang LX 2.3L with an automatic transmission. Yes the engine with 88 horsepower. After this winter I want to put the 2.3L turbo engine with a manual transmission. I have no idea what im doing or how to do anything. I have no idea what to get or how much it would cost to do this. If anyone could help me out by telling me what parts exactly i need to get to make this successful that would be very much appreciated thank you very much.

Hi,

Welcome to the forums

I would start using the Search function as this topic has been covered too many times already

Sleeper_Inc has done the Auto to Manual swap as well as the 2.3 N/A to 2.3T along with may others.

Welcome. Glad you joined. Welcome got a good project up ahead.
First the trans swap has been covered by Sleepinc. It is in the tech section.
2. I would find a turbo donar car if it has a 5speed alread that would be great.
3. Would need to find a 2.3efi Mustang to get gas tank, fuel lines and wiring to the fuel pump or put a external pump on your tank. But you will have to run a fuel return line to tank. That is reason for 1st recommendation.
4. Wiring on this swap is the hardest part. Probably easiest way is a efi non airbag Mustang engine harness and repin for the vam. Or could use the donar wiring harness this may or may not be the best way. A donar Merkur or 86 or older turbocoupe yes. But the 87-88 harness is a mess but it has the best computer and vam. But these last 2 items are easy to get on e-bay.
4. Search Foxgt he has a long post on doing this and pm when serious he could give lot of advice.
5. Read and reread this may help or totally discurage you.
