on the hunt, looking at a 4 banger 1990 stang
so i have a 99 cherokee thats lifted 5" on 34" tires and it gets 9mpg..not the best daily driver. been looking around for a daily driver for quite awhile now and came across a red on red 1990 mustang lx with the 4 cylinder and an auto tranny. went out to take a look at it and the body is in alright condition..has rust holes in the quarter panels, surface rust on the rockers, and the paint is faded on the front end. the interior however is mint. the carpet is cleaner than clean, the dash has no cracks and is very clean..seats faded but nothing some covers cant fix. the owner couldnt find his keys for it or he would let us take it for a test drive. were gonna go back soon, it also didnt have any plates. gotta call the DMV tomorrow and ill take that off the price. he said it was his dads car. its only got 87k on it.
i can somewhat deal with the rust..my jeep had some too. i can cut out the holes and i have a friend with a welder and we can patch that up..id also get rid of the rocker rust, sand the paint and im thinking of a red on black two tone like my jeep and follow the fender lines. underneath, the car looks very clean. there are no wet spots under the car and the bottom of the engine was dry. just got a couple of questions though.
1) the car has a brand new belt but i noticed that there are two pulleys on the passengers side of the engine that have no belt. theres a large one on top and one about half the size if not less in diameter underneath. is it for a/c? is it on a seperate belt?
2) how sluggish is the stang with the 2.3 and an auto? no im not going to do any racing, its a gas getter..the jeep is the toy.
3) do all years of mustangs have the same lug pattern? im guessing yes, but this car has stock rims and hubcaps and i work at a tire shop so i wanna atleast maybe get some late model stang rims or something better and use these as winter rims.
i think thats it for now. thanks in advance!

NA 2.3 + auto = one of the slowest cars ever produced. Might even bust out a 19 second 1/4 mile time. It is a 4 lug car, so pretty much anything designed for a 4 lug Fox will bolt right on unless you go super wide.
