Default Sandrail Turbo Question

I have a sandrail that has a 1.9 efi in it the whole thing is custom. Diamond pistons .. crowder rods, it has a FAST computer in it forged crank and the head has all been gone threw to hold the power of a small turbo 8 - 10 lb of boost . it also has a inner cooler.

THE PROBLEM AND QUESTION 1 : I have completed the project it runs fine when ideling and at high RPM's AT IDEL. but if you drive it down the road and you floor it at about 4200 RMP's it back fires and wants to bog down.

I have look for vaccums leaks and the pipeing on the innercooler is all hard pipe nothing is colapsing under the boost..

I have not had this thing tuned yet but the tune on it right now is good enough for it to run and drive

any suggestions

you would probably ahve more luck over on this site www.shoptalkfourms.com. also include the engine type. ie. honda ford a/c vw etc.

since this is a mustang fourm and not many here have the info you are looking for check the web site i listed above and go to the off road road section. not all of the cars there are air cool vws. also you may want to see if you can find a fourm for the escort. wish i could be of more help but not really sure where your problem could be at the moment.

Did you ever think the whole "Not tuning" it part you mentioned may be your big issue here?

You need to do a pressure test to make sure you don't have any leaks. Usually 5lbs more than your peak psi is good.

Also, driving a car under boost without having supporting modifications & a good tune is laughable at best.
