Help (again)! Another couple problems.
I dunno what it is, but it seems like my 1990 Mustang is just falling in on itself right now. Which is kinda crazy because the previous owner was a really good mechanic and I assumed he took good care of it. But that was years ago and here I am now, so here goes:
I have crackling in my steering wheel, it's kinda like a "snap" and "crackle" in the top of the steering wheel. Like in the cabin you can hear it coming from the base of the steering wheel. It's a very light clicking (but it's not the regular clicking that the steering wheel makes as it turns). I've done some searches and they say anything from tie-rod ends to suspension to the turn signals not being properly set. The Haynes repair manual doesn't say much about it in troubleshooting.
In any case, at the same time it seems like the steering wheel sticks or gets hard to straighten out sometimes when I've turned it to one side or the other so I dunno if they're related. And it occurs randomly, so ther's no predictable way I can make the steering wheel get stuck.
Any ideas?

the best way to be sure is to raise the frnt of the car up in the air and check the control arms for worn bushing or ball joints. also check your inner and outer tie rod ends and rack busings as well. also try disconecting the steering collum and see if you can feel any rough spots while turning the wheel.
