the clutch on my mustang has always been a little stiffer than it should be and one day i got in to crank it up and pushed the clutch in, about half way in i heard a loud "pop" sound and the clutch went loose and went to the floor, then when i let off the clutch; the clutch pedal makes a "tick" "tick" "tick sound as the pedal returns to its originally position. i assumed it was the clutch cable becuase it was always so stiff but i replaced the cable and afterwards i still have the same problem. if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated thanks for your time
