Default stock 2.3 issue

I am having issues with my 2.3. I took it to a reputable mechanic after a month or 2 of checking and looking over my self and he said he couldn't find the problem and I would have to take it to a dealer. The car starts and runs great until it warms up. then my idle , cant seem to hold a specific rpm. When driving after warmed up it has no low end power at all., push the accelerator down more and she opens up with lots of power. (for a stock 4 clyn.) Basically once its warmed up I cant drive it normal I have to drive it like I stole it.

check your throttle body and make sure the blade is able to move freely without sticking.

I agree, sometimes the dealers have the best equipment to diagnose. Dealers can be cheaper in the long run if they find it right away

A dealership isn't gonna have a clue how to work on a 88 mustang. Their diagnostic tools won't plug into it and they will be lost.

has a koeo/koer test been run to check for codes?? ALSO DID YOUR MECHANIC CHECK FOR VACCUM LEAKS?? sounds like a lean part throttle hesitation....we use a smoke machine to check for such.

it depends on who works there..........all that is needed for diagnosis to begin is either a scan tool for obd 1 or the paper clip method to run a koeo/koer test to check for codes...after that most will still have a break out box to check all input PIDS.
