Default Melting Headlight Bulb '91 Mustang

1991 Mustang LX 2.3

so I have tried everything I can think of to fix my problem, now I'm making my first post here looking for help.

The driver side headlight on my mustang is melting, yes the bulb itself!!

Things I have done:
  1. replaced the bulb
  2. wired in a new hedlight socket/connector (it what the bulb is plugged into)
  3. rewired in yet another connetor/socket, and changed the ground to a new spot (black wire according to my haynes manual) and yes i sanded it to make sure it would have a good connection at the new place.

Just to clarify, the "bulb itself" is made if glass. What is it exactly that's melting, the headlight housing?

No the glass itself is melting/breaking

I think I fixed the problem, the housing was full of water, I'll see if that clears it up.

Yup, water will do that to a hot bulb.

I drilled 2 small holes in the bottom of the lens, one on each side, will this work as a temporary fix until I get new lenses?

And where are some decently priced lenses? I want to replace all of them in the front and back,
