Hey guys,

I have a 89 mustang notch with a 2.3t engine upgrade and am slowly moving on to the other parts, I'm in the process of putting a trac lok and new bearings in the rear and found a cheap brake set off a 87 turbocoupe...figured as longs as it's coming apart might as well do the brakes. I know it will need new lines in back and probably a master cylinder and proportion valve. My main question I can't find an answer to before I pull the trigger on this is does anyone know the offset spacing I need to run the turbocoupe brakes on the mustand axle...I've found the adapter bracket from LMR but am on a budget and would just like to make a spacer on my lathe and either bolt it through the original bracket or weld of if necessary. Does anyone have a link to a rear disc swap guide?

You can just grab a complete axle assembly and brakes out of a 94-98.

Or you can use any disk brakes setup from a 94-04 is you use 94-98 axles in you rear housing.

I want to stick with 4 lug...have a good set of pony rims and kumho 245's all around otherwise I'd go to 5 lug. The brackets, calipers, rotors, and mounting hardware I found are only $120. The aftermarket adapter brackets are $160 (!!!more than the brakes!!!). I know the axles are 3/4" wider. So from what I've found it's buy the adapters($160), get turbocoupe axles ($100) or cut the original and space the caliper mounting tabs .375" and reweld (I can possibly do???)(Have cutting tools and a mig) or stick with drums.

Can anyone confirm that the turbocoupe axles will fit into the mustang housing and allow the brakes to work without modification?
