one more thing, this 87 has a oil leak from the fron of oil pan. can i change the oil pan gasket without removing the engine? i didnt know if i could raise the engine high enuff by taking the motor mount bolts out. thanks

yes you can loosen motor mounts then jack engine up until bellhousing touches firewall for max clearance and drop pan.down... now you may not be able to pull the pan out due to pick up interference but if just replacing gasket no need to..after pan is down fill the inside with rags as to catch anny material that'll fall in from cleaning the gasket off......and clean and prep all surfaces and install new gasket and torque to spec.......or if pan needs to come out you can lower k-member down some

its kind of a pain in the *** but it is doable in a day or so, i had to do mine 2 times, and i would recomend geting the felpro pan gasket, the best freaken gasket you can use, at least in my opinion for this job

+1 on the felpro gasket, its better to pay the extra $$ on a better quality gasket.
