Default Tire Pressure 245/45/17

What psi are you guys running in your tires for the 245/45/17s, I have heard to run 40 psi, but I have also ran 32 psi for almost any other vehicle I have had with stock wheels and tires. Thanks for any input, I am trying to figure out what would be the best for mileage and the best ride quality for my dd.

40 is too much and will make the cars ride hard. I ran 32 in mine.

I have the same size tires on my 93. The sidewall reads 52 max and the door sticker reads 30.

I often change pressure, depending on my mood, driving style etc.

At the track, 40 psi. It's a stocker and I've ran 2.0 60's with that set up. Planned on dropping it if traction was a problem but never got that far into tuning.

On the streets, my town has alot of bumpy roads. I fear for the rim so I run 40. This keeps the sidewall stiff and will keep my rim from getting damaged by the potholes.

Often I get sick of the ride from 40 psi. "screw the rim" thoughts go through my head and I run 32 or 35 psi. It rides a little better but the thought of wrecking my rim will usually make me pump it higher.

Love to hear more thoughts on pressure for low profile non stock tires.

30/28 front/rear. Helps it hook some.

I have 255/45/17s but that's pretty close [8D]. My tires say 44max, but I run about 42 front and 38 rear for autocross. higher PSI will improve your gas mileage slightly but will make the ride harsher.

Too much pressure can also wear the tire unevenly.

ive always run what the manufacture recomends most say 44 max and i usually would put about 40. if you run too low tire pressure it will break down the side wall and result in premature tire failure.
