fellas i need some advice, i want to re do the suspension on my 99 gt vert, But i just can't make up my mind!!! so do i go with the eibach pro kit ( complete kit ) or invest in an adjustable coil over kit??? any and all input would be great!!!

I'd get coil overs. Even with sportlines i don't think my car is low enough. i have about 3 fingers worth of wheel gap in the rear and about the same in the front.

well...they make alot of different sport line combos...they have a whole bunch that lower your car a different amount, i think the most i've seen is 2.5"...but thats a little low

Coilovers and eibachs are in a whole different category, what coilovers are you looking at? only ones I'd really recommend are qa1, mm, griggs, and I've heard mixed things about mmr's. Coilovers are able to go lower without the loss in ride comfort as conventional springs.

I never recommend eibach products as I feel they are way too hit or miss, as its not uncommon for people to have springs that are different lb ratings or lengths and they do sag a bit after awhile.

Coilovers alter the geometry of your suspension squat and the ability of the shocks/struts to dampen a shock. If your seriously in the middle about it then I would just recommend the h&r springs as coilovers are more expensive and not really something that people looking for a drop should be looking into. I bought my coilover kit from mm as a grip package and love its overall effect on my car's handling and comfortability.

Aereon, you seem to know your Mustang suspensions. Do you have a link to the kit you purchased? And is this the QA1 kit you would also recommend?

I'm looking to hit some AutoX events this year, and perhaps some raod racing or drifting down the road. I know coilovers are in my future, but I see a lot of 'conversion kits' that slide onto existing shocks. Just want to make sure I'm looking at the right kits when the time comes..

DO NOT BUY THE QA1 KIT!!!!!! I justinstalled it on my car about two months ago and have not been able to drive it due to manufacturer defects and clearance issues with the coilovers. I thought it was a good kit because it was about $400 cheaper than the rest and looked of better quality, but I have spent over $1,000 to get the car "fixed" and three alignmentsand the freaking thing is still not right.

It was not that bad of a installation, but you will definitely need a lift and at least 2 people to help. it took about 2 full weekends to complete the installation of the K-member,tubular control arms, and coilovers. I also did the rear suspension too, which is not as easy as everyone says it is.The QA1 instructions are the worse instructionsI have ever seen too.

I would say go with coilovers if you plan on keeping the car for a long time, otherwise, it's not worth the money.

P.S. I think i would have gone with UPR. I had to call them and get advice/instruction on the installation of the QA1 kit. QA1 tech line is a crock of S*** and Ihad them tell me twice to"fix it your self." WTF.

Oh yea, one last thing.... The MM kit had awesome instructions with their Coilover kit, but the tech line wasn't very helpful.

Lastly, I purchased the QA1pro-active system, bump steer kit (don't buy this either), rear adjustable shocks ect,from RPMOutlet.

thanks for the info. i am going to keep the car and give it to my boy, so i want to invest i coilovers but i definately do not want a nightmare, like it sounds like you did. so i guess MM it is???

i want not only to lower it but i want more grip, etc.. so i am not just dropping it, plus if they were adjustable then i can tune it the way i want it
