My 89 4 cyl I had did this but after a start and some solinoids I just striped it and sold it because I didn't have a title anyway. My 92 cougar did it too then I just wired up a kill switch to the started power and a push button start
. I loved it lol.

Check your firing order??????? ummmmmm ok you can check it and check it and I would be 99.9999999999% sure you won't find a problem

I didn't use one of those expensive kits you can buy when I did mine. I just got a push button switch from the part store for a couple of dollars and used some amp wire I had left over lol.
