I know a guy selling a used hellionturbo kit fora 2005+ mustang gtcomplete with everything except the gt500 fuel pump. he also has some other goodies he is throwing in like guages. my question is would anybody on here have and uneasy feeling about buying a used turbo kit? I dont have a problem so far cause the guy looks like he has taken very good care of it. i told a buddy of mine about it that owns an 06 mustang gt and he said he would never by a used turbo kit that it would be stupid. What do yall think?

have you looked at it? Your the only one who can make the decision as to whether its worth buying or not. If nothing is wrong with the kit then why wouldnt you buy it? If theres stuff wrong with it or you dont feel comfortable then dont buy it....

How long was the kit in use? How did the guy drive the car? How much is the kit, is it even cheap enough that you're saving yourself lots of money in the long run? All things to think about when buying any car part used. If the guy cranked up the boost and abused the car and didn't take care of the proper maintenance you could be setting yourself up for high $$ project.

Im told it has 500 miles on it. he want $3700 for it.he was pushing around 9psi at 565ish to the wheels. dont know much about the guy except for talking to him on the forums. but from talking to him he knows alot about it and looks like he has taken very good care of it. he does not live near me so i cant see it before i buy it.

well if you can take a look at, id strongly suggest you go over it and check for problems (shaft play, etc.) and if you feel like its a good deal go for it! ive built turbo systems from junkyard parts and they lasted and put down decent #s.

the question is why is he selling it? if its coming off a blown motor, it must be rebuilt or it could trash your engine

no hes just selling it cause he cant afford the upkeepwhile going through collegeanymore. he did tell me he blew his motor running too much psi buthes had the tuboon a built small block for the past 500 miles.
