Some more things are (I am doing do this to my car)... Better rear control arms, front sway bar bushings, & high end bushings for your new springs. The spring bushings help more than one may think, and are cheap. Newer, better bushings will really help these older cars. Control arms aint cheap, but bushings are. Performance sway bars will also help.
id say look into a new k-member. saves weight stock compared to an aftermarket one, and stiffens up the front suspension a bit. that along with the sub fram connectors, rear control arms, strut tower bar, new front stuts, and lower springs should make a pretty big difference. fox bodys are already pretty balanced cars actually, they just dont have the greatest stock suspention and are a bit heavy.

I dont know if its out of your budget, but QA1 sells a kit to to convert your car to a coil over setup with tubular control arms and k member for like 1000 bucks. Id get that and rear control arms. Get polyurethane everywhere too and you should be ready to rock. FRPP also has the handling pack, shocks, struts, springs, and sway bars for mustangs for like 400 bucks.

k member for sure, i would say it never hurts but for handling i dont know that suframe connectors would really do a whole lot they are more for stopping frame twist drag racing.

Actually sub frame connectors will help! The purpose of the sub-frame connector is to stiffen the chassis. A torsionally stiff chassis will keep a more even load on all wheels to improve traction . Not just in straight line cars but for cars connering as well ..

Weld up the factory torque plates (stock is just tack welded), weld in full length subframe connectors, upper/lower control arms, lowering springs, & a strut tower brace. Those are all fairly basic things someone can do on a budget. K member's take quite a bit of work and are fairly expensive, although they are great weight reduction and improve handling.
here is the cheapest way to increase handling by about 100% for not to expensive (maybe $600 + your time)
eibach lowering springs, energy suspension full poly kit, and kyb's at all corners. just the cheap kyb's make a huge diff w/ the rest you don't need the expensive ones.
