Default RE: Anderson PMS, Tweecer, MegaSquirt, or Dyno Tune

i got 2 find a dyno place close to covington, louisiana...aint one that i kno of!
i dont mind spending $1000 if it will do what i want it to
i can spend $500 on a tune if it does what i want it to and hope i dont change anything (doubt i will)
i dont have the motor in yet but ill need to do something about a tune...even if i just need to get the A/F ratio right...the PMS will do that as far as i know...the tweecer seems a little complicated...if somebody would show me how to use it then hell yeah ide buy it.

its a toss up between the PMS and the Tweecer for me right now...
$860 to $1,400 w/ wideand kit for PMS
or $550 + laptop for Tweecer....starts sounding better....but its also more complicated....

What is your current combo and what are the future plans for the car?

That may help narrow things down...

I stayed away from Amderson because they were $2,000. I just ordered a TwEECer RT last week that shoul dbe here soon. ALso got a friend with a dyno so that's no issue either. Not really looking into a megasquirt yet...but soon
$2000, wtf. its $900. i paid $1002 for mine including shipping and a 3 bar MAP sensor so the pms could reference boost.
My megasquirt has cost me a total of $361

.........and?

i dont own a lap top so if i had to buy one and a megasquirt it would have cost a lot more then what i spent.......and i didnt have to do any wiring. plug and play, just two connectors for me

I found a laptop on ebay for $325.
I still have my desktop, but could sell it to recover the cost...

Either would do well with that setup.

The hard part about learning the tweecer seems to be learning the Ford programming method.
There is a lot of terminology to get through as well.
Using the tweecer software is not that tough.

If you are even slightly curious about what Ford did, then the tweecer may be for you. You will need some intrinsic curiousity to get you through the hours of reading you will have to do.

If you just want to make the changes and hit the road, then the pms may be better...

This is the impression I have gotten from others who have used either pms or tweecer.
