I stayed away from Amderson because they were $2,000. I just ordered a TwEECer RT last week that shoul dbe here soon. ALso got a friend with a dyno so that's no issue either. Not really looking into a megasquirt yet...but soon
$2000, wtf. its $900. i paid $1002 for mine including shipping and a 3 bar MAP sensor so the pms could reference boost.
My megasquirt has cost me a total of $361
.........and?
i dont own a lap top so if i had to buy one and a megasquirt it would have cost a lot more then what i spent.......and i didnt have to do any wiring. plug and play, just two connectors for me
I bought a used laptop that works fine with the megasquirt... for $125
and Glasersil... stop asking me if its installed yet... its like -20 degrees out with the wind chill factor.. aint no way in friggin hell im going outside for longer than i need to
I was out last night in the cold (-4) working on my exhaust/supercharger. But it was in the garage [8D]Oh and I can't believe how easy a harmonic balancer is to install!
RE: Anderson PMS, Tweecer, MegaSquirt, or Dyno Tune
If your the do it yourself type and have the drive, patience, and curiosityit takes tolearn then I would definately go with the TwEECer or PMS. Whichever system works out cheaper for ya I guess would be the way to go. If I was just learning to tune again, I would buya good used laptop and use the TwEECer software as thier is tons of user supportavailable on adedicated message board and from the manufacturer.
Learning to tune isnot something that happensovernight, but with some studying, alittletrial and error, andthe support of your fellow tuners you'll figure it out in no time. You'll still probably want to rent some dyno time to tweak your tune and get some accurate RWHP a TQ numbers. The difference is you'll be doing the tuningyourself and straight dyno time is cheaper than letting someone dynotuneyour car for you.
On the other hand if you dont have the time or desire to learn to tune and you'd rather pay someone to do the work then letting a shop tune your car is the way to go. This is especially if your one of those impatient people who wants something now, because like Ive said learning to tune takes time and thats time that your car maynot be running at its best.

Whats about MOTEC, the guys over here in Thailand seems to think Motec is the best. I'm leaning more towards ANDERSON. I have a 1995 mustang 5.0. Also what would be the best stroker kit If I plan to go Turbo??
I got a pms for my car, easy to use (a lil confuesing at first) but you get the hang out of it! cool thing is you can add/subtract fuel and timing while your driving so you can see what yoru changes are doing! PMS IS WORTH IT

just looked at tweecer and that looks bada$$. havent looked at the pms but if that does the same as the tweecer, i think i found my new calling. especially that i know my way around computers and programs. just a bit of learning the car, thats what i'm here for. thing about that is if you can get a good one on ebay for a decent price, when your done, just resell it or keep it and if your good, start charging for doing local tunes.
