i thought it was an aod. they ripped all the electrical out. does it require a vacuum module or something to make it go into od?

tv cable. there's a cable that goes from the transmission to your tb. When you push the throttle, it pulls the cable out a little more. Your shift points are based on throttle position.

3 gears. It's basically an aod without the overdrive. They're pretty strong transmissions i put mine through hell before i took it out.

The car shouldn't have a kickdown setup, it should have a tv cable. The cable controls a pressure valve in the valve body of the transmission based off of throttle position. No cable, no pressure. Even a short drive without the cable will burn it up. You could say goodbye to those clutch packs & bands
You don't need the cable with a different valve body.

& the c series transmissions are vacuum controlled rather than tv cable, the vacuum modulator is on the back right side of the trans so you can check to see if it is a c series trans. same as with the aod though, a valve body can change that. I had mine setup to where it would shift at 2100rpm no matter what the load on the engine or throttle positon while in drive. Manual shifting for racing.

Needless to say I destroyed the pump due to pure stupidity of letting a friend try to install the torque converter in the trans & trusting him... literally RIGHT after I had just rebuilt it Oh well. built auto's are definitely fun if I wasn't for gas prices & it being a daily driver i'd still be running with mine.
