that must be the nuetral safety switch. although ive never done a aod to t-5 swap i have done alot of t-5 installs and a few t-5 to c-4 manual shift body jobs including my own drag car. if it is the nuetral safety switch what it does is send a signal to the computer that its ok to start because the car is in nuetral. the way this works is a circuit breaker is placed where when the car is in nuetral it is connected and not when its in gear thus not allowing the ignition to send fire to the starter. the same thing is on a t-5 car but the circuit breaker is by the clutch pedal which only completes the circuit when the clutch is pressed. you will have to splice your current wire with the new clutch safety switch on the contact wire that way when the clutch is pressed it completes the loop and would be just like the aod being in nuetral and completing the loop.

Well if you figure this out, please share because I have a remote start system on my manual car, but I don't have it hooked up at the moment b/c I dont want to accidently leave the car in gear and have it take off.

I did an aod to t-5 swap on my 93. the cable that runs from the auto shifter to the steering column is to prevent you from being able to put the car in gear unless you have the key in and turned to the on position. It is not needed with the t-5. get rid of it.
