Default Forged 347 stroker

A little background first. I bought my first mustang in may of 07. It is a 89 convert 5.0 AOD. Everything is stock. I am also the owner of an 2003 Yamaha R1. So I am used to SPEED. The problem was this car was just too slow. I auctually got beat by a honda pilot. Yes the small SUV. So I parked it the next weekend in the garage and got to pulling the engine.

I have just got all of the engine torn down. And have decided to go with a forged 347 stroker kit. Here are a few things I am set on putting into or onto the engine. Pullies(duh), BBK SSI intake, BBK cold air, 24lb injectors, BBK 70MM throttle body, 50 lb shot of juice, headers, X pipe, Full MSD, Alum driveshaft and a Demon AOD Trans (rachet shifter).

Here are the things I have yet to decide on but I am looking to get 400h/p Natural (450 with 50 shot of juice)
1). HEADS 190cc or 170cc
2). CAM??
3). Anything else I am missing?

Please give me some ideas. I know that stall speed on my trans will have an effect on my cam choice. So I have yet to decide on which torque converter.

1. canfield 190's if you have hopes of 400 rwhp
2. up the injectors to 30lbs for use of NOS
3. comps xe series are good OTS cams and in recent mustang mags the xe274 and 282 have been used extensively in strokers and produce good numbers...I gots the 282 in my soon to be in 347
4.ditch the bbk ssi...= craptastic intake...go with a holley system max II or trick flow r series or edelbrock rpm II
5. a good dyno tune
do all these a 400 rwhp will bea realistic potential/possible goal
6. and get at least a 3000+ stall to launch the crap outta that car!!

really no need for a fully forged kit as the block will break before the internals will, as for heads you may want to look in to TF HP's.. I know I will be most likely purchasing a set for my build

canifield 195's
trickflow R intake
custom cam by the man jay allen

400rwhp+
no need to spray 50, i would do 100.

with the right suspension you can run 10s with a 347

Comp stroker cam would be a good idea, and forged kit would give you a few more xtra hp since you would be saving weight compared to a kit with a cast iron crank.

Ok, here's the update. I called Jim up at Ford Strokers in Chicago. Talked to him and got everything straight. Heres what he listed.
3.400 Probe Cast Steel Crank
5.315 Probe 5140 Steel I Beam Rods
Probe SRS Forged Flat Top Pistons
Perfect Circle Moly File Fit Rings
Clevite77 Rod Bearings
Clevite77 Main Bearings
Clevite 77 Camshaft Bearings
SA Gear Billet Timing Chain
Custom Ci Hyd Roller Camshaft
Ford Racing Hyd Roller Lifters
TFS .080 Wall Chromemoly 1 Piece Pushrods
AFR 185 Cylinder Heads, Complete
Fel-Pro Head Gaskets
ARP Head Bolts
Comp Cam Pro Magnum Stainless Rocker Arms

And he told me to go with 30lb injectors and a holley system max intake. Sounds great except the engine in the wifes minivan just gave out!![:@]So now I am stuck holding a list of what my dream engine would have in it. [sm=boohoo.gif]

I am looking to get a raise at work this month, so hopefully I can start puttingthat money back in the bank and saving up for the engine again. I'll keep you posted as more stuff comes along.
