wtf is this???

When i was takin out my smog pump i saw this box on the side of my engine bay. what the hell is it???? is it part of the smog pump stuff?? can i rip it out as well? it also has some sort of sensor on it. does anyone know what it is and if i take it out how to bypass the sensor??? thanks

simple question my friend!! it's the evap canister where fuel vapors from the tank are stored then purged into the intake to be burned

i took mine off, just make sure you dont plug the vent line

the "sensor" is the purge solenoid, to purge the canister into the intake.

you can remove it if you want..it just purges vapors into intake..I removed mine
