Default 1993 5.0 LX (prior CHP)

Found this car and my Dadis contemplating purchasing for our project car.

208000 miles
Fresh black paint (few days old, kind of a cheap job but it'll work)
Straight body (rather surprising actually)
5 speed
Ram clutch (needs an adjustable quadrant? Not familiar with 5.0 parts yet)
Interior is immaculate (even the little flip ash tray is in good shape-they always break)
Hurst Shifter (shifts nicely)
Still a 4 lug with stock wheels that are not curbed or dented.
Just passed smog (first try with flying colors)
New head/tail lights. (helped put them in)
Went through (shifted) the tranny and it sounded good, no grinding or clunking that was abnormal. I had an 84 5.0 LX and it's tranny was horrible compared to this.
It just passed smog.
Upgraded plug wires (big FRPP wires)
K&N filter

Everything else is bone stock. I popped the hood and everything is clean, no fluids, leaks or rigged up pieces.

What price do you think sounds fair? Is there anything I should look at prior to buying it? I really don't care if the motor has 1 million miles since we are going to pull it and rebuild it to 331 or blow it up while we're building a new short block.

Thoughts are apprecitiated.

I know there were some years that had the forged internals. Is there a way to find out? I thought it was 1989 with a part of 1993 having them also.

To be honest, with that many miles offer the guy 1300 cash and see what he says. I wouldn't pay any more than 1800 for it.

I was actually planning on pulling and redoing the motor anyway but, I feel kind of the same way.

If the guy has any documentation that it really was a CHP car, the price may be a little high.
That amount of miles don't surprise me though if it was a CHP car..........

I really like the car but think the price he wants is too much. For I'm planning to do I should find a rusted 4 banger in the junk yard and start with it.

if your gonna do that, find a clean 4 banger body.

you never want to start off with a rusty crusty body.

more ofa headache starting off with a rusted body. especially since they dont repo many structural parts for the foxbody yet...
