Default Fuel Injection to Carb swap.

i just switched from fuel injection to carb set up. im still running the distributor and stuff from the fi set up. everyone told me i had to swap it out. but im not real sure why. the car runs good and i cant notice anything. they said the timing wouldnt advance. said i wouldnt notice a big power drop off at 4500 rpms. i dont care to swap to the other stuff. just dont know exactly what to switch to. i wanna swtich to msd stuff if i need to. just dont know which stuff to get. i know bout the distrubitor. but dont know bout the coil or ignition. some say i dont need an ignition. totally lost here all the help would be nice.

i took my stock efi block and converted to carb. i havent cranked it yet, hoping to do so this week or next week, adding some finishing touches, but i picked up a blaster 2 coil, wires and a 6A box from someone locally... and i went with the Summit Street and Strip Ready to Run dizzy. it was 220 shipped, looks like a nice unit, well have to find out.

I would look into a ready to run unit with a Vac advance. The HEI units work ok but they just don't look right, lol

Here is a photo of a friends extremly budget build. The engine cost nothing (it was the CFI engine from my 85 Coupe) the rest is Ebay stuff including the EFI dist. I think it looks out of place but I have to hand it to him on the amount of cash he has laid out on this ride. From the Summit cam to 91 4cyl coupe he has less than 2500 dollars tied up in this ride. He has cut every corner he could and while it won't be a powerhouse I have to admire his frugal build.
