I've read the Junkyard/DIY thread on here. And it mentions the 12v key on source. I PM'd FoxGT for his "wire-up" diagram a week ago. And I havent gotten a reply.(I'm not sure he's even gotten the PM..) So, has anyone else done this? Do u have a diagram? any info on this would be sweet! And if anyone asks why I want to do this... 'Cuz I plan on adding quite a few gauges and such. that need the "source"..
Thanx

yeah, for all of my gauges i tapped into the radio harness, there is even an illumination wire there so the backlight comes on when you turn on your headlights. i believe the illumination wire for the radio is orange...

You run a lower gauge wiring from the battery to a solenoid, then the solenoid to a panel where you can put things that require 12v key on. Then you use a key on 12v to activate the solenoid. You don't want to run too many off of the small gauge radio wire & risk electrical fire (one of my friends burnt his dash up in his '86 doing that). I can make you a more in depth diagram if you'd like.
I've got a few of my switches going into it for small things. Like my electric fan on the '89 is ran from a 12v key on aswell as a rocker switch.
