If you have a 5.0L mustang swap your TFI module with his and see if that fixes it. They are rather tempermental about water, and they go out with no warning. The TFI is the module screwed to the distributor just below the cap base. If that fixes it make sure he puts a light coat of dioelectric grease on the new TFI before he installs it.
