Default Buddy ran through some water, not it won't start... help!?

Hey guys....right now in FL we are having these crazy rain storms (havent seen the sun in a week), with some places in central FL with over 2 feet of rain. My buddy was surprised when he tried to make it through a "puddle" which ended up being enough to choke out his engine. (he has dumps, he thinks that might be part of the problem). Well.. it stalled out, and won't start. There is a bit (not alot) of water in the intake, and injectors look decent. Starter starts up fine, and everything sounds great except that it doesn't fire. Is this electrical, or fuel delivery? if his engine was hyrdolocked, could you tell just from the sound of the engine trying to turn over??

Thanks for any help we can get!!

go to auto zone and get one of those sparkplug lights that you put inline the sparkplug wire and light up when u crank the motor and make sure there is spark. If it was hydro locked the motor wouldnt turn over i'd think. Also if the motor was under water check the dipstick to see if there is any paste that looks like mayo. If ya see any than the motor will need to be rebuilt. cause the water will get into everything and begin to rust than later seize the motor or damamge it by spinning bearins .

if the motor were hydrolocked it would not turn over.......what you need to do is check for spark and fuel and go from there

this is what I was thinking... it sounds fine, just sounds like no fuel delivery/spark to me!
