To eliminate the Ford ignition system. Duraspark, distributor fitment and so on.
Much easier to do an MSD dist, 6AL and coil. Bolt on and go. Plug and play. No special wiring/rewiring.
there is no special wiring needed to run duraspark, just power and ground, I can hook a duraspark set up , up quicker than a msd box, dizzy and coil set up

why go from efi to carb? carb is obsolete, efi is the standard but anyways gl on your project.
see carb is the best route for budget, difficulty and trouble shooting issues when converting from a 4cyl to 5.0 and when i have an issue about the way its running instead of having to get codes checked and a whole bunch of "well maybe its this" to fix it ...its easier to just adjust some screws and timing and roll with it
i would love to convert to carb just because its easy to work on so i hear.. how much do you think it would cost to do the full convert on my 1988 5.0l 5 speed
