Default Steering Rack Issues

I partly removed my rack to drop my oil pan. Now Im have a b1tch of a time getting back installed. I have the steering shaft installed and I can get the pass side of the rack on the little peg on the K member but I can't get the d side on for anything.

Is there an easier way to get this thing back on?

I lube the bushings up with silicon spray and sometimes have had to smack them back in place with a large rubber mallet

One more question, is it easier to bolt on the shaft then bolt the rack to the k member or vice versa? I cant seem to get it on with the shaft bolted to the steering rack.

I just put a rack in my car. I had it mounted, then hooked up the steering shaft.
