Default MM K-member

Anyone running a Maximum Motorsports K-member? Ive got a team Z in the car right now (havent even taking it off the stands) and I dont like the way it is fitting and its cheaper for me to get a new k-member than it is to buy a cowl hood, 5 lug wheels/tires and 5-lug conversion kit. I just want to know what your thoughts are on the maximum motorsports piece.

The car is being set up for road racing.

Im running 17x9 wheels and they are touching the lower arms before I even get one full turn of the wheel. I put new prothane motor mounts in also and the motor sits higher in the car. I cant even get the dizzy cap off (due to tower brace) because the motor sits so high.

Since I have those two issues I cant afford to fix both of those so Im going to try a different k-member.

My dad thinks the team z looks weak compared to the MM one also.

Im going to try and sell the team z depending on what they and MM say.

the team z isnt meant to be a road race k-member. if the car is set up for road racing what made you decide to buy a k-member more oriented towards drag racing?

Everyone here recommended it. I know I wont.

The car will mainly be a street car but I want it to handle like a mofo.

Yeah I made a screw up there. What sucks is I was going to take it to work Tuesday and align it and now I cant even set if off the stands.

If you know anybody that wants one let me know. All I did was bolt it on the car.

A k member will not solve your wheels hitting control arms issue. For that you need tubular control arms which basically means your going to be buying a coil over kit. I think there's only one company that makes tubular arms compatible with the stock suspension set up. Don't know who it is though. On stock control arms with 17x9s wrapped in 255s, I can get a bit more than 1 full turn of the wheel before hitting. I just use caution when turning until I get a full coil over/k kit this summer.

Another thing to take into account is the MM k member offsets the wheel base by a fraction of an inch, they also have control arms that offset the wheel base. When used together the front wheel base is moved an inch and a half forward. You may have tire to wheel well clearance issues, big time. You can get non offset control arms and then the total offset will be somewhere around 1/2 to 3/4 inch. I'm not sure how much the k member moves the wheel base by itself.
