Default Goodyear Gatorback 225-60-VR60 Tire Question

I have a set of virtually new Goodyear Eagle VR 60's size 225/60VR15 on my 68 Shelby and would like to switch them out to reproduction Goodyear Speedway 350 E70/15 Polyglas tires. I've been told these VR tires were original equipment on 1985 - 1990 Mustang 5.0's and are extremely hard to find in new condtion. That said, all four of the tires still have the "nubs" on them and I only put a few hunderd miles on them over the last 20 years. I don't see any cracks or curb bumps and there are no patches either. One of them however has a small pin leak on the side that should be fixed. I'm not sure of the value, but I'd be open to trading for a set of the Polyglas tires I mentioned above. Other than trading (my preference) if you can give me an idea as to there value that would be helpful. Thanks, Mark in California.

Your tires would be great for a show car that was trailered everywhere it went, but they could be dangerous on a street car. Google "tire shelf life" for a detailed reason.

Shelf life is overrated for safety reasons. Better to be safe than sorry, especially good advice for soccer Mom's shopping for minivan tires.

If a gearhead sees no cracks in the sidewall or treadblocks and there are no flat spots. I'd run them in a minute.

Us SSP guys will pay big bucks for a matching set of VR60s in good shape..but you shouldn't rip off fellow stang' owners.. I'm not really sure what the chances are of finding someone with the specific set of tires you need and them needing your vr60s..probably better off listing them on ebay and using the money to buy your repro tires needed.

If I do list them I want to be both realistic and fair. What is the value? Thanks

unless someone wants them for restoration purposes to the average guy they aren't worth much, which is most of us around here
