I ran a nitrous set up about 10 years ago. 125 shot on a stock motor all day long.....granted I didnt have that many bottles....maybe 5 or 6 bottles, but the engine took it and runs strong still....I beleive these motors are good on nitrous up to 125. Any higher and it will blow the stock motor.

If all you want is 350 rwhp and 400 rwtq then a Vortech V2 blower will get there, on roughly 10 psi. A set of ported GT40's, a good intake and a good cam is all it will take. this is a good point but you can get a b&g kit ready to bolt in for $3000. if you buy a used v2 for $1500, $200-300 for heads, $200 for cam (just guessing), $$$$ for valve springs. $$$ for new timing chain (good idea when putting a new cam into a high mile motor), your looking at $2000-$2500 in parts. this assumes you can do a head and cam swap as well as put in new valve springs. if you cant, your now paying hundreds in labor which will bring your total past $3000. not to mention that if the sc you get doesnt have a pulley setup for 15psi your buying that too. im just saying that if you want to go jd's route thats great, he makes a great point but for a couple hundred more you can go with B&g and bolt in 350rwhp in a weakend.

I'd say that if you can find a used Kenne Bell (without issues) for cheap enough, jump on it, then call them up and get the 55mm pulley, you will not be dissapointed with the results. Put it this way, as fast as the 99 Cobra is, it feels slow as balls compared to my 95. The KB 95 pulls like a beast, even in 5th gear, that's an accomplishment the Cobra couldn't even dream of, granted it's FI compared to NA, but it does help make a point.
Turbo would make nice power, but be prepared for a nice investment, personally I'm pretty lazy and I like the ease of install with the Kenne Bell, plus the fact that it doesn't lag out, as soon as you go into WOT it goes to full boost (11 psi in my case), and sits there, it never falls, or takes time to spool up.
Kenne Bell install time - approx 2 hours (taking your time and assuming you have no issues or need to fix anything)
Vortech/Paxton/Procharger install time - approx 6-8 hours (pending nothing else)
Turbo install time - approx 8-12 hours (also pending nothing else)
Like I said, I'm lazy and I like the ease of the Kenne Bell, plus the added in bonus that you don't have to pull half of the front of the motor off to install it, just unbolt the upper intake, bolt on the kenne belle, move/relocate some vacuum lines and call it a day.

Good point lucky. However I would argue the need valve springs no matter what cam is used (yes even a stocker). He could also reach his power goals on a 3.33 pulley. 15 psi on a stock short block is not for everyone LOL.

good point, stock springs suck, especially if you want to rev it past 6k
when all is said and done, the best power adder is determined by your needs. the best for one, maybe the worst for another

I like making 15psi Like lucky said, what you want is all dependent on your needs. I picked up my Vortech because it was emissions legal, cheap, makes good power and sounds like a jet at idle. The truth is, you will have so many opinions. But no matter which route you go FI will net you big power gains!

one thing about a kenne bell, is you better have a good radiator. They put off a lot of heat.
Or just use the smack referred to above. Thing that scares me about that is what an explosion through the intake is going to do to the whipple charger.
