ok guys as some of you know, my car has been idling high and have a major vac leak. so i had take the upper intake off and fixed the vac lines under it, and checked the gaskets. now i have put it back together and add 24lb injectors with 24lb sample tube. the leak isnt as bad, but theres still a slight whistle that comes and goes. and my idle will stick at around 1500 and then go towards 900 and die everytime. i think when i hear the whistle the idle raises up itself, and when there is no whistle the idle goes to normal and dies. if i dont give it some throttle it will die out.
so if went from always idling around 1500 and never dying out, to idling high half the time and dying out the other half...im confused.
What could cause that?

is your timing the same as it was. if you removed the distributor then recheck your timing. you def also need to find that leak. spray some carb cleaner or starting fluid to pinpoint it.
yah i just took it off like a week ago. the plate was gunked up and i cleaned it.
that could very well be where your vac leak is.did you change the gasket or put any rtv on it?

yah i changed the egr spacer to intake gasket, but not the t/b to egr spacer gasket. and the stuff the t/b plate was gunked up with was a dark brownish gooey substance?
