Exactly. When I finished my 408, first time I let it get hot just to bleed the cooling system. Second time pedal was to the floor. That'll break in the rings for ya. All I run for oil is 10w30 Rotella T, Non synthetic.

lol hell ya thanks guys much appreciated
i need a few more things just got done installing manual choke and lokar cable system looks pretty clean, got my k&n filter. just need fan, fan belt and inlet feed to carb, and fluids then awaking the beast =]

i personly wouldnt run it hard with in the first 20 mins cause any cam company will tell you that the first 15 mins of a cams breakin is its most prone time to twist or break im speaking form experince lol it sucks belive me to have a motor run fine for 10 mins give it a half throttle and snap the cam its a p1ss off lol

^^^^^dude....we run roller cams, no break in required, your philosophy is only applicable to flat tappet cams
