Default is this a 8.8 rear end

My buddy is selling the stock rear end out of his 1987 5.0l 5 spd im almost positive that they had a 8.8 but just want to make sure he selling the rear end and i got another project on the go so i figure it can replace the 7.5. i dont know if this matters but it has the quad shocks but i dont know if the 7.5 ever came with quad shocks or not and theres no tags on it so any help much thanks for

when i pull the cover off dont i just measure from end to end to verfiy its a 8.8
