Default x cam

Well im going to be converting to MAF this weekend. I'm also going to be putting in a edelbrock intake manifold. I currently have a F303 cam laying around, but my friend sells me a X303 cam for $100. Im going to drop in a cam since i'm putting the intake on. Should i put the F or X?

better have springs matched to the cam and set up on heads with proper seat pressure, it's not as simple as slap the heads in and go or even that "I quote un quote have springs good up to XXX lift already"

Ok the X cam is out, since I'm going to need to fly cut the pistons...so now im down between the B or F cam... i know the B is for low end torque and it says high rpm hp...and the F for mid-top rang. Which cam (between the B & f cam) would better match my edelbrock rpm manifold??

you still need to upgrade the valvetrain for either cam but f-cam or b-cam shouldn't need to flycut

both cams suck ass. no sense in upgrade your valve train, wasting all that money and then having to buy another cam later because you are disapointed at its performance. trust me, you'll hate the b cam.

The new motor that I am buying which is a 96 Explorer 5.0 that was checked and freshened up has a set of ported GT40's on it and it runs strong with the TrickFlow Stage 1 cam in it. It sounds almost identical to my E-303 that's in my car now but makes more power.

i would recomend the f-cam if your looking more for performance rather than gas mileage and drive ability if you have an auto you might have to get a stall converter but the f-cam is for more of high rpm horsepower you might also have to worry about piston to valve clearence with its .512 lift but any of the ford racing cams make good horsepower i think you would be pleased with it if its just going to be a street car you might also want to look into the e-303 its a good cam for street use and has better drive ability has no valve overlap (better gas mileage) and makes good horse power and would go good with your edelbrock intake.
