Default clutch cable problems

my cable keeps falling off the quadrant. and if i tighten the hell out of it the clutch engages so high almost even with the brake pedal

here is how my clutch cable is routed

Possible not attached to quadrant properly. Picture of cable on quadrant please. Adjust cable on clutch fork then use adjuster on firewall.

is there a certain way it attaches to the quad. i thought it just follows the grove down and latches at the end of the curve.

kinda crappy, all you can see is the end of the cable riding in the grove latched at the bottom of the quad

probably because your using crappy bbk stuff.. try getting an oem cable with a good quadrant and FWA and see what happens

That cable is pretty loose. With it that loose, nothing is there to hold the end of the cable to the hook. I run mine alot tighter.

i know i lot of guys are running Aftermarket cables and firewalls.


can someone just explain how they initially installed it and adjusted it

I have a Steeda and had issue with it when I crammed it on. Took the quadrant back off and seen a pin that needed to be removed and cable run under then replace pin. Needed some washers to take up side to side slop also. Darn thing did not come with pictures. Almost got me. I adjusted my cable at transmission first leaving 1.75 inch at firewall adjuster. Stare at it real good and this mudpuddle will clear up.
