Default What year doors will fit a 1986 Mustang GT?

Hello everyone.
I am in the process of getting my 1986 GT body repainted and I need some parts first.
I found some doors on craigslist, but now I need to know if 1987 Mustang GT doors will fit my 1986 Mustang GT.
The parts guy at the dealer said that 1987 will not fit 1986, and according to my friend at the bodyshop, his listings show that they dont fit.
When I look at the doors they look the same. And I was under the impression that from 1979 through 2003 that they were all the same except for the trim, wiring and door panels. But since the ones I am looking to buy are manual windows and locks, I would not need the wiring at all.
I need an answer to this ASAP as I dont want to miss out the opportunity to buy them.

Thanks in advance.

83-93 doors bolt up and work just fine (94-03 WILL NOT just for the FYI). If you are just replacing just one door then you would be better off getting a 83-86 because of the trim on the outside right below the window on the 87+ that match the lines that go with the 87-93 quarter windows. If you replace both then you would be good that way. I know some 79-82 body pieces will not work on 83+ but the doors should.

I had forgotten that starting in 1994 the new body mustang came out. I should have known since I worked at Ford dealerships from 1992-2005.
Anyway, thanks for the info. You would think that someone that owns a bodyshop would have been able to tell me if it would fit, but instead he said that the 87-93 would not fit.
