Default 87 GT - Need Help

so i just got an 87 GT for my first car but i have a problem. It keeps on missing. I've replaced the coolant temp sensor, all the spark plugs, distributor, and spark plug cables. It seems like it helped little but its still missing moderately. Can someone please help as im excited to get it up and running.

when you say distributer do you mean the cap and rotor of the unit itself? Also have you tried running a compression test on the engine by chance? Have you tried running a cylinder balance test? You could be looking at a number of things.

IAC = idle air control valve, it looks like a small silver cylinder on the side of your throttle body. i highly doubt this is causing a missing issue.

i would close the gap on your plugs to about .035" and see if it helps. if it does not... you could have a fuel problem ... if it does , it is spark related. if you happened to to use platinum plugs... throw them away and put in cheap copper plugs

If that doesn't work, you may have a bad injector or wiring.

alrite i just replaced the IAC and it seems to be running better. So far ive gone from it not being to able to idle cuz it would die to it surging for about a minute or two then it sits fairly good at 1k rpms(without me touching the throttle at all). And my list of parts that ive replaced include the distributor cap, spark plugs, spark plug wires, coolant temperature sensor, IAC, solenoid, i think the engine control module, vacuum hose and i think thats all. Any clues?? im really frustrated with this as ive been slowly workin on it for a while and still not runnin right.

well for ur surging issue you should also clean the MAF with electric contact cleaner and you may need to reset the base idle
