Default E303 Cam

My 302 has 135,00 miles on it currently. If i put a E303 cam in it, how long do you think the motor would hold up, and could i keep the rest of the motor stock? My other problem is i live in California, and i dont know if it would pass smog.

for emissions, i'm not sure. somebody on here will know. the cam won't kill your engine though, just maintain the engine with your "normal maintenance schedule" and it will last a long time as long as you don't beat the piss out of it daily.

It could puke tomorrow but not be your cams fault.

I think the E cams are emissions legal, but a vendor could tell you that.

I don't know what you'd expect to gain though from a cam switch on a stock car?

I don't think your going to see a big difference with just switching out the cam.. I'd work more on bolt on's like pulleys, exhaust, etc.

if you havent already bought the E cam, get the B. The b cam will wake the stock motor up a little more than the E will. if youre worried about emmisions though the E will be better as it is 50state legal. which just means it shouldnt hurt youre test.

the stock heads suck and even if you put a cam in it to try and get more airflow the heads (in stock form) probably won't support the extra airflow the new cam could provide.

i would do other mods for now.

dont listen to everything you hear, your heads will support either cam, just stay under or near .500 lift. most people say to swap the vavle springs with that many miles, but its not a must for you.

I disagree, I have a b-cam and it doesnt really start pulling hard till 3500 rpm, the e-cam starts pulling at 2200 rpm.
and I think they both pull to 6k rpm.
I wish I got a e-cam, but the b is good for the track, and with nitrous it really hauls.

you need heads to get all the pontential from the cam though.
