Dont be a pu*sy, I have 4.10 with a 5-speed, It helped my car emmensly, the pull is so much harder than 3.55's that i had. For my next car im going 4.30 gear, this is my daily driver, Dont fear the gear. I love the pull that it gives...IMO 3.73 are for people who drive on the freeway alot...even then I drove on the freeway a couple of time with a buddy stang who has 4.30's and man 4.30s are so bad ass, the pull is insane, with DR's he dropped .6 tenths from just the gear install and DR's, he still breaks traction with the DR's at the track, he is stock with 4.30s and DRs, he runs 14.2 stock.Might I add its a GT vert...the only reason you would go with 3.73 or 3.55 is bacause you are going to run a turbo or super charger, or Nos, other than that 4.10s will be better. Trust me 4.10's is the best gear, and you will tach around 3k at freeway speeds.

I've got an lx vert with an AOD and I'm getting nitrous around christmas or my b-day, so I'm going with a 3.73, plus 75% of the time I'm on the interstate so 4.10s or 4.30s really aren't realistic for me. I'm sure that the 3.73s will keep my happy for now.

my non-existant 1st gear pulls like a brick $hithouse.13.20's on NA and 12.50's on a 75 shot and my buddy's '92 gt 100% stock w/ 4.10's and et drags yanked the tires 6"

and here is a timeslip to you haters....btw...if you have an overweight newer gt of course your not gonna run low 13's.
look at the mph...you can see it's all stock
2nd is on a 75 shot

but hey....don't believe me, keep running 3.55's and other crap gears and wonder why you can't get out of the 14's.....of course...you will get 1-2 mpg more than me...thats like about $20 bucks a year savings......sounds like it's worth it to me ?????

It is a five speed. Well, what about nitrous? How much more horsepower would that give me?

nothing wrong w/ 4.10's in a 5-speed. i do it. rpm's are about 200-300 more than w/ 3.73's.

expect to tach about 3k at 70 in 5th gear.

and expect to run 13.20-13.40 on the 4.10's and cheaters w/ nothing else.

That can't be right. 3K at 70 in 5th??? Can anyone else confirm that. Running low 13's with just 410's?? I'm not buying that for a second.
whats up w/ your sig?

you have an altitude corrected ET for san diego?

that is sea level brotha....you ran what you ran...don't kid yourself

my 3.55 in the wife's car pulls like crazy and all most everytime I pull a few cars on those with the 3.73 and 4.10 out of the hole....with those slow reaction times dude you need 4.10's.....gears are more of a driving style to me....my selection of gears gas mileage never fiqures into it...

well ive had 3.55's and wish i had more gear. that was in a low 14 sec. car. ive had 4.10s in my current car which is great for the aod and running n/a with 26" tires. but now that i have the nitrous i had to step up to 28" tires because the 4.10's were to much on the top end." peak power on the gas is at 4600 rpms." stock heads, intake and cam.
