If it has 289 internals how has it never been rebuilt? Sorry to question but it just confused me. But being an original boss 302 block its probably worth 4-5k for just the block. I would say since you dad is selling it and not using it no more then 2k. Also I'm pretty sure dart blocks are much stronger then old 302 blocks. You might want to look into them, plus you can bore a dart block .125 over without problems. Also Tim PM me I want to know if you still have that rebuilt motor for sale.

no im not saying it is stronger than the dart, im saying that it is stronger than the new boss block you said you found. my dad bought the block from ford brand new, so it had no miles on it, he had the 289 crank and rods at home so all he needed was pistons so he bought 289 pistons insted of spending the money on crank rods and pistons. that should clear it up. and schwindty yes im looking for some more rpm lol my dad had the motor in his 66 gt 350 to 9k once, 9k thats crazy and it is still togeather today. but he does not own it anymore

I have been told numbers upwards of 1200hp are not impossible with that block. Not to mention being able to get to 368ci. They are a great block. But I don't understand why you wouldn't go fora Windsor at that point. The NEW Boss block is readily available and tons of people are pushing them.

try 374.2 c.i. with that block actually.

there are ways to get 3.5 stroke in there, a couple different ways actually
