no the GT isnt more powerful, they both have the same hp. the LX is lighter and also have the same handling package as the GT. the stangs have problems with their trannys. both AOD and T5 are weak production ones. your looking at low 14s stock if you can drive with either ride.[as long as its in good shape] the SD cars are faster compare to a MAF car stock. since the stock MAF have very restrictive inlets. depending on the options are the variations of gears it had. expect anything from 273 up to 355. notchbacks are lighter but its going to be hard to find a good 5.0 notchback. alot of ppl are converting a 4banger into a 5.0. yes they are reliable if taken care of like any car. if you beat it then youll have issues with it. gas mileage should be around 14-25mph depending on the car and the driver. power wise 87-92 have 225 hp and 300 tq. and the 93 are underrated at 205hp. 92 started the first year for basecoat/clearcoat paint and also first year for the colormatched moldings. 91 introduced the pony wheel and larger front wheel openings. 90 had airbags, 86-88 had SD. some 88 had MAF they were the CAliforna cars. also 89 started the 140 speedo option.

you must not really know your facts then the 99 cobra had motor issues preventing it from performing like it should. the 99 GT had better times and numbers then the cobra of that year and the new edge body weighs in more then the fox body. i posted my source for this info. go look it up. if you dont believe me.

you must not really know your facts then the 99 cobra had motor issues preventing it from performing like it should. the 99 GT had better times and numbers then the cobra of that year and the new edge body weighs in more then the fox body. i posted my source for this info. go look it up. if you dont believe me.

Dude you aint telling me nothing i don't already know. Hell my mother used to work on the ford assembly line. She worked there for 30 years. I know all there is to know about mustangs. I know all about the problem the cobra's had producing 320 horsepower. That's why they didn't produce more than 200 of them in the year 2000.....They then decided to play it save in 2003 only rating the cobra at 390 when it has more..</P>
i seen your facts and it shows that a v6 camaro could almost beat a GT of the same year. those are some bogus facts. i showed weight gears and with the cobra i showed shift points. and your 93 cobra speed is close to what i posted. dont you think that et could be improved one. car and driver testers arent always professional drivers and not beating on a car to get the most out of it.

The best time i've ever heard of for those years was in 1986. you said it yourself they dont beat the rides to get the best time. those times are what your average driver are capable of gettting. and if you only think a GT40 engine makes 240hp 15hp more then a 5.0HO. then your mistaken. for 1993, ford downrated its 5liter hov8 combination by 20hp [from 225 to 205] without actually making any contributing mechanical changes to the engine itself. All the factors discussed in chapter 15 relating to the downrating of 5liter ho v8 also apply to the 1993 gt40 ized cobra powerplant. by 1993 new appraisal, the cobra v8 rating worked out t o235 hp, or 30 more than the rating assigned to the standard 5 liter ho v8. these conservative numbers were delegated despite the fact that the same gt40 parts assembled on a an o0ther wise oe5liter engine had already produced 270hp in a well publicized nonfactory evaluation.
