i was shopping around for a short shifter for my 95gt and theres a shifter for a t-5 tranny....what makes it so much better than the stock, what r the specs, how much is it, where can i get it, and how hard of an install is it. those r the questions i leave to u, my fellow mustang owners (keep in mind, im new to the whole mustang thing, so be gentle)

when it says "for the T-5" it is talkin about the tranny that was stock on many manual 5.0s, not sure on the years. yours should be a T-5 as long as it is a manual. the other trannies that they sometimes have short throw shifters are the tremec TKOs, which are an aftermarket trranny for high hp and torque engines.

i bought a b&amp;m short throw, and it actuly made it shift alot faster, and it makes it impossible to missshift, it was about 300 bucks, and i had to take the trans out to instal it... you might not have to, but i needed a new clutch also so i did it then

at planetperformance.com (which is where im getting ALOT of my parts from) has a B&amp;K pro shifter for 210. all i want to be able (ever) run is at the most 375-400HP with whatever torque. should u stay stock and just get a heavier clutch.

I bought a used pro 5.0 short shifter for 80 bucks er something but its sweet. Instead of that long stick you have a nice little shifter like a miata <IMG src=smileys/smiley3.gif border="0">. It helps your shifting a lot and you do NOT need to take out your tranny. If you don't have instructions, find them its not hard you can do it yourself, I did...
